US and British forces carried out strikes against more than ten targets of Houthis in Yemen on Saturday, in the latest round of military action against the Iran-linked group that continues to attack ships in the region, officials said.
The US is carrying out semi-daily strikes against the Houthis who control Yemen’s most populated areas, saying their attacks on ships are in solidarity with Palestinians at a time when Israel is bombs Gaza.
The strikes have so far failed to stop the Houthi attacks that have disrupted global trade and raised shipping prices.
Military action targeted 18 targets of Houthis at eight locations in Yemen, including weapons storage facilities, underground missiles, air defense systems, radars and a helicopter.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the strikes are aimed at “continuing disabling and weakening the capabilities of the Iran-backed Houthi militia”.
“We will continue to explain to the Houthis that they will bear the consequences if they do not stop their illegal attacks, which harm the Middle East economies, cause environmental damage and disrupt the delivery of humanitarian aid to Yemen and other countries,” Austin said.
